Deco City Beer

Brand Identity & Product Design

I was tasked by Parkers Beverage Company to build and develop a brand through the creation of a craft beer product. A product which pay's homage to the city of Napier, New Zealand - and it's brewery partner.

Napier was destroyed by an earthquake in 1931 and was then rebuilt in the iconic Art Deco style. Deco City Beer is brewed at bStudio in the former National Tobacco Building, one of the world’s most recognised Art Deco buildings - presented on the can.

The concept behind the visual identity was to encapsulate the personality of Napier. This was executed through the use of colour, but also through the use of Art Deco typography and graphic design style to tie the elements together. The city of Napier is commonly referred to as 'Deco City' as a result of it's heritage and identity.

My role: concept, design, art direction, layout & marketing.
