Human Error presents the connections between design, technology and culture through the media and narratives of science fiction.
The aim was to explore the moral dimensions and consequences of developments in culture and technology, and to develop a proposal for a science fiction movie that foregrounds how design and material culture interact with the plot and narrative.
Synopsis: After escaping the clutches of horrific entities, a small crew find shelter within a temple-like structure. Inside however, they discover that this planets purpose is the creation and production to create life within the universe. It becomes evident that the human species was in fact a failed experiment, and purged from the testing.
The climax of the story is presented through an interface. The animation engages with the narrative as the key component of telling the story.
